We all know defense wins championships, but offense draws viewers. It’s fun to watch, and it changes the way the game is played. 2 teams come to mind when we talk game changing offenses, and the similarities in them is what made us want to do a deep dive.

The Greatest Show on Turf, the nickname for the 1999-2001 St. Louis Rams were led by a dynamic duo of WRs drafted 5 years apart (Issac Bruce and Torry Holt), an amazing RB (Marshall Faulk), and a gun-slinger at QB in Kurt Warner. They also had a HOF level piece on the offensive line in Orlando Pace. Those pieces broke offensive records in their time, as well as collected 3 MVPs (in 3 Years), a Super Bowl Championship, and another Super Bowl appearance.

The 2000s Colts had their own dynamic duo of WRs drafted 5 years apart (Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne), an amazing RB (Edgerrin James), and a gun-slinger at QB in Peyton Manning They also had a HOF level piece on the offensive line in Jeff Saturday. Those pieces broke offensive records in their time, as well as collected 4 MVPs (in 8 Years), a Super Bowl Championship, and another Super Bowl appearance.

But who was better? It’s hard to compare eras, especially because the rule change in the 2003 offseason but we break down some of the impact to the game they had, the successes they had, and which ones were our personal preference.
