New Show #204- Heidi From Sadness to a Book

Interview was done June 16, 2022!
I love meeting new people willing to let me in and share their “lemon to lemonade” experience!
This story is about Heidi (not me- but we dressed alike for the interview!) She felt overwhelming sadness and didn’t know what it was until a friend pointed out that she might have depression. Her therapist encouraged her to tell her children so she wrote a book as a guide to talk to kids about depression! Heidi loves to share the lessons she learned through her mental illness.  What message do you get from this interview?

During the interview Heidi mentions briefly about a charity she helps with so here is more information about that: “My brother and his wife started ‘For the Love’ in Arizona to help needy kids at Christmas. They were having so much fun that we started a branch in 2017 in Colorado. We try to help with things year-round in addition to Christmas. ABOUT the LemonAid Stand: Heidi started hosting the LemonAid Stand live radio talk show, over 20 years ago, in 1999! It all came about when Heidi was dealing with thoughts of suicide, inadequacy, and dealing with infertility. She realized as she reached out to others and heard their stories, she would be uplifted and inspired no matter what she was going through. So this podcast has old “Original” shows from that time period. It also has “New” shows that are currently being recorded with new guests. And it has “Update” shows where Heidi reached out to original radio show guests to find out how the past 20 years have been!
