This episode it’s my great pleasure to feature Jessica Castillo of the Blooming Minds podcast. Jess radiates positivity and possesses rare insights into the emotional realm of the human spirit. An avid student of psychology and child psychology, Jess has a passion for learning, teaching, and facilitating emotional healing in children and adults. Big thank you to Jess for being so generous with her time and for sharing her illuminating and clear-sighted perceptions around emotional intelligence.

In this first part of our chat we discuss Jess’ upbringing and background, the challenges and institutional racism she has faced as a first generation Mexican-American with a single undocumented mother. We also dive into Jess’ personal world view, what propelled her to want to study psychology and work with kids, and the importance of emotional intelligence when helping young minds to bloom (and also just when existing in the world, at any age).

This is Part One of our chat, and Part Two will drop next week. We had some technical issues in Part One.
