2014 Miami Book Fair | Jennifer Bisram

Jennifer Bisram is a television reporter and now an author. Her book, First Day of School: Do You Want to be My Friend? is a celebration of diversity and friendship in the classroom. It is her first children’s book, but she’s always had a love for children even spending time in a classroom for two-years as a teacher. Jennifer’s inspiration for the book was her sister, who made many friends on her first day of school. Jennifer has written for several publications and reported for several television stations. Her parents are from Guyana which is in South America. She is the first in her family to become an author. When she isn’t working or writing, she is spending time with her family, cooking, baking, traveling or trying on new pairs of shoes!
