MTV's Senior Director Of Social Impact Rachel Terrell The 4th Annual Mental Health Action Day #HeliumRadio

As part of its partnership with leading youth mental health nonprofit Active Minds, SHOWTIME/ MTV Entertainment Studios will launch a YouTube-based choose-your own-adventure-style interactive video designed to teach young people the new “stop, drop and roll” for emotional support: A.S.K., which stands for Acknowledge, Support and Keep-in-Touch.The mental health crisis touches every community across the globe and this year’s call to action on Mental Health Action Day is to dedicate time to social connection, whether that’s connecting with oneself, participating in a community event, or trying the new A.S.K. digital experience to better learn how to help a friend.Rachael Terrell is the Senior Director of Social Impact at SHOWTIME/MTV Entertainment Studios, tasked with leading campaigns that leverage the brands’ superpowers for good. Working closely with non-profit partners and experts, Terrell’s team builds impact-driven campaigns that engage, empower and activate audiences. Focusing on mental health and civic engagement, their campaigns have reached millions through initiatives like Mental Health Action Day, The Youth Mental Health Forum, the newly launched A.S.K. campaign, Vote Early Day and Power the Polls. Terrell also advises content creators and creatives on ways to expand representation and develop nuanced, authentic storylines. This work includes developing an award-winning digital resource that shares these insights at scale with creative partners across SHOWTIME/MTV Entertainment Studios and beyond.
